Can anyone help me find info about my grandmother Katie Hampton? She was married to a Arch Bryant .She died i heard at a young age.My father and his two sisters went to live with there grandmother,Dora Bryant around breathitt co .My father has past and i don't have any info about her or her family .I'm not even sure where she's from.Thanks Beverly

Bryant births for Katy Hampton are in Letcher Co and one is in Lee Co KY. There is a 25 year old Katy in Letcher in 1920 with parents, not married yet. Could this be her?

Thanks for the reply, but my father Dailey Bryant was born in 1922,so that can't be here . Is there alot of Hamptons in Letcher co ?I don't even know where she is buried. My mother said they were from around Hazard, but she's 88 and she just don't remember much these days .On my dads sisters birth records her name is spelled Katy,Kattie ,Katie .I guess her and Arch were married.My mother says Arch was a very mean man .He died in an old folks home in Cynthianna Ky .My parents read about that in a newspaper. If she was still at home with parents in 1920 she would have had plenty of time to get married and have Daily in 1922. I found four births for her, Daily Bryant was in Letcher Co. Arch Jr and Dorothy were in Letcher and Mollie shows up as born in Lee Co. If those first three kids were born in Letcher it seems logical she might have been from Letcher

I found Arch and Katy in Knott Co KY in 1930. Living two doors away on that census is a Henry Hampton who is a brother to Katy in the 1920 and earlier censuses in Letcher. It looks like Katy and Arch are married 10 years which would make it right about 1920, probably right after the census was taken where Katy is still with parents.

I believe this is the right Katy Hampton and that she was the daughter of Rich Hampton and Nancy Sumner
