Hello, Does anyone know anything about the Benjamin Smith family? He marries Nancy Clemmins/Clemons, Clay Co. Ky., Jan. 8, 1818, daughter of Francis Clemmins. Lives next door to Francis in the 1830 Perry Co. census. Does anyone know if he is related to the Rev. Richard Smith family?

I believe he is the grandson of Rev. Smith and may be in the SMITH BIBLE. Have a look under "Danger Nick" on my Perry Co.KYGRNWEB site and see if he is located there.JPD

I have the following on Benjamin Smith.
Benjamin Smith b. 1827 m. Nov. 25,1852 to Matilda Oliver
Benjamin was the s/o Thomas Smith b.1805 and Sarah Clemons b. abt.1806. Thomas was the s/o Rev. Richard Smith 1771 - 1836 and Alica Nancy Combs 1772 - 1858.
Rev. Richard Smith was the s/o William Smith and Eunice ??
Alicia Nancy Combs was d/o Nicholas "Danger Nick" Combs and Nancy Grigsby.

Does anyone know if Richard Smith had a daughter that was called "Belle Jones" Smith ( noone knows why she was called that) who married Buddy Stacy? They had daughter's Abby and Sally.

I am searcing for my grt grt grandfathers parents
he was:
James Buchanan "Buck" Smith b. abt 1860 m Rebecca Jane Gross b. 1863
they had my grt grandmother Drucilla Smith b 1885 m. Ballard Wagers
they only had one dau together my granny Ethel Wagers b 1924

i can find nothing defintite on "Buck". i did find a Buchanan Smith b. abt. 1860 w/ a Matilda Smith b. abt 1820 in the 1870 Clay Co KYthey are listed at the end of a Abijah Smith & Susan Smith family-states all KY born. The report states that Abijah,Susan, & the 2 oldest boys are deaf & dumb.
relationships are not listed & Buchanan is listed as works on farm. he is 10, matilda is 50.

in the 1860 census for Clay Co, i found matilda smith farm lab. b.clay co,ky w/ a Jas. Buchanan Smith 10/12 b. Clay Co, ky & Sena Gambril 14 yrs b. Clay Co
they are all living w/ a John Honeycut 28 farmer b. NC & his wife Nancy 20 b. Clay Co,KY Again relationships between all these people is not listed.

I found reference to Matilda's parents being Thomas Smith & Sarah Clemons but i can not find any verification & if that is true then she had her son but was not married (more common that thought) i have never found her w/ a husband & with no other children.

i suspected that. yes, i would appreciate the copy. i have yet to get any further back than James Buchanan "Buck" Smith who m. Rebecca Jane Gross. i got her family, but not his.
