Would that area be Union Precinct No. 5 in the 1880 census? Uriah and Elizabeth House Wilson, my ancestors, lived there in 1880.

Does anyone know a male Potts who descends from the early Potts of Nicholas, Fayette, Bourbon Co., KY? We are having a little luck with either connecting or eliminating connections though the use of DNA. But it takes a male with the surname Potts. So many of these posts are old and the email addresses are not current. Contact me directly at gpthacker@aol.com for more information.
Barb,
I just came across your 1999 post regarding the 9 children of John and Isabella Wiley. Do you have any information on the children of their son Robert Wiley? I think he is my 3rd gg-grandfather. My gg-grandfather is Samuel W. Wiley and I've been trying to "attach" him to someone for several years. Would you be willing to share the info from the LDS family group sheet you mentioned? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Barb Walker

Hi Denny,

Can't help you with you query, but hope you can help me. I am trying to connect my g.g. grandfather George S. Myers with the George & Margaret Myers family. Do you have a list of their grandsons, from their son's. I found their son Peter Samuel Myers with son George, but had no birth date. (found this from a family tree on Ancestry) I looked at the rest of their son's, but several didn't list any children. Hope you can help. Please contact me at jacbeck56@gmail.com
Thank you in advance.

Jackie Myers/Beckerle

I am looking for Jacob Ham/Hamm along with his wife Mary Roland/Rowland Ham/Hamm. One of their children Burton Richard Hamm was my great grandfather (who is buried in Cynthiana, KY along with his wife Polly Ann "Tolla" Williams Hamm). Does anyone have the cemeteries books with the name Ham/Hamm in it - please let me know and also where are the Ham/Hamm buried at? Please email me at marcella@insightbb.com soon before I make a long trip out to Nicholas Co. I live in Louisville, Ky.
I'm looking for Stephensons (sometimes spelled Stevenson) in Nicholas County, KY. On WorldCat, I found a book on Stephenson genealogy in Nicholas County, but when the library went to request it the lending library indicated it was lost. Specifically, I'm looking for Stephensons who probably came from PA, to KY, then my ancestor, John Stephenson shows up in Logan Co., OH by about 1806 and marries Jane Hatfield of VA there. Their first born was named William, so I've wondered about John's father possibly being named William. Any help would be wonderful as I have really hit a brick wall -- thank you!

According to the cemetery listing in "History of Nicholas County", the following in the East Union (Bramblett) cemetery:
Booth, Nellie or Miller (?)dau of J.M. and D.P. Booth, 1870-1870--Wilson,U.P. 1825-1830
The East Union Christian Church now standing was rebuilt sometime in the 1980s. The one before it was built 1n 1897 to replace the one destroyed by fire. The following relating to the East Union Christian Church also came from the above mentioned book.
"In 1829 "one and on-half acres of land upon which the church stood was purchased from John Fowler of Fayette County, KY for the sum of $3.00 current Kentucky money." The deed was given to the trustees of the church and is recorded in Book H, page 507, Nicholas County."
I will scan through my book when I have more time and if I find anything else relating to your post, will let you know.

John and Hannah Standiford lived in Nicholas County in the Lower Blue Licks area for the rest of their lives. They are in the 1850,60,70 & 80 census. Hannah is in the 1900 and 1910 census living with her youngest son, Clark (Ray Clark) and his family. She is a widow so John died between 1880 and 1900. Here is the info I have on Hannah:
Kentucky Death Records, 1852-1953
about Hannah Standiford
Name: Hannah Standiford
[Hannah Bingham]
Death Date: 3 Nov 1914
Death Location: Nicholas
Residence Location: Nicholas
Gender: Female
Birth Date: Sep
Birth Location: Indiana
Father's Name: Alex Bingham
Father's Birth Location: Ireland
Mother's Name: Nancy Hawkins
Mother's Birth Location: Kentucky

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if the Bramblett Cemetery is at the East Union Church in Nicholas County, KY? Is the church still there? I have discovered that my gr gr gr grandmother, Millie Brandon Booth (mother of Millie Frances Booth who married William Oliver (Polk) Wilson), was suppposed to have been a member of East Union Church for 78 years. She was born in 1803 and died in 1900. I would love to have any information/pictures about the church and/or cemetery.

I don't know who his father was..but I know who he married and their children. Sandford married Elizabeth Githens (sometimes found as Betty GIBBONS). Does any of this sound familiar?

As far as I know the church is not there. The cemetery is located off of 57 (Lot Young Road), on Snake Ridge Road on a private farm. I have been down there and couldn't find anything, but only because I was short on time. If you have a GPS it would be easier to find Latitude: 38.215N
Longitude: -83.99W.
