My mother Helen Inez Gossett was born in Muhlenberg County KY in 1919. Her parents were Edgar Gossett and Ethel Fleming. She was in the Greenvill HS class of 37. My grandfather, Edgar and Great Grandparents are buried in the Eaves Cemetery near Powderly. I would like the location of this cemetery and any info about the family. I still have some relatives (cousins and perhaps Great Aunts or Uncles)in the area. I would also like to hear from classmates of my mother.

The Eaves Cemetery in listed in the Muhlenberg County Cemetery Book Volume I. I checked in this book and the address listed for this cemetery is very vague. It says, "located West of Powderly about 1/2 - 3/4/ miles."

I am familuar with this area and although there has been some strip mining done in the area, I do not think the cemetery will be difficult to find.

Besides your grandfather and grandmother's graves there is also an Edgar Gossett, Jr. listed next to them.

My husband's grandfather, Louis Thomas Merrill was married to a Farrah Gossett. I was told her father was Daniel Gossett and that Farrah had a sister named Era. Are these Gossett's in your line? Farrah died young and Louis remarried to Mary Lois Bibb. Louis and Mary had two children, at least one born in Bremen, KY. Trying to find a connection to the Gossett and Merrill families. Louis Merrill's father was Thomas B. Merrill and he was married to Mary E. Vincent. Her father was John Vincent and her mother was Sarah ? Thanks
