I have researched all Halls in 6 counties and wrote a book of census 1790 thru 1930 in those 6. I did some researching on John B/Mary. I did more searching on their son Edwin R. who married Jennie Ann Baker. On my deed research I found a deed dtd 1850, Mtg. Co. from John and Mary Hall to Arther and Sallly Hall. 23/471. You mentioned S.G. marrying a possible James M. Boyd and a John Wesley 1834 s/o Arthur 1804 and Sally Unkn who married Marion A. Boyd. I didn't do any searching on the Boyd name.
Arthur's father Green Hall m: Mary Barnes comes from the William B. and his father is Leonard Hall. I thought Moses Hall m:1784 Isabelle Stevenson d/o Thomas Stevensen of Lincoln Co. may be a clue. didn't search that.
When researching Edwin R. he had a son that worked at U of K as english teacher named James or John (grnson) Baker and publlished poetry.
