Margaret Davis, wife of Nathaniel Davis, was appointed administrator of Nathaniel Davis estate. In 1813, the Montgomery County Court was notify or someone filed a suit with the Montgomery County Courts that Margaret Davis, Administrator and widow of Nathaniel Davis, had not divided his estate accorded to the law.
Although she had given each of the children something when they become of legal age, it was not the amount they were entitled to as heirs of their father's estate. According to the law, Margaret Davis hadn't properly divided the estate with her children. On November 13, 1815, commissioners from Montgomery County courts were sent to the home/farm of Margaret Davis to inventory and appraise the estate of Nathaniel Davis. At a court held in Montgomery County, on the 4th day of March 1816, the inventory and appraisal of Nathaniel Davis estate was produce. And divided according to law, with each child getting his or her share, except Polly Igo, who had already received her share of her father's estate when she turn of legal age in 1809.
Margaret Davis had given to daughter Polly Davis, later Polly Igo, a slave named Sophie and what appears to be two of Sophie's children, although this is hard to make out. Polly Igo also received other items amounting to $52.00.
Other children mention as heirs were Richard Davis, Betsy (Elizabeth) McClain, wife of Thomas McClain, Solomon Davis, Daniel Davis, Levi Davis and Peggy (Margaret ) Davis.
