Hi----My great-great-grandmother was born abt. 1846/1849. We believe her father to be Wiley Cherry. Is your W. B. Cherry perhaps Wiley? Do you know when he was born, number of times married and to who? My great-great-grandmother's license was signed by a Price and I have always thought they were related as well.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello Shannon,
I have researched this family for years. My niece married into this family. I am trying to do research for them.
The other lady was correct about this family being confusing. I have information on Reverend James Shepherd Isenberg and William Thomas Isenberg. This family said that the father of William Thomas and James Shephers was George Isenberg. I found a marriage liscense for a George Isenberg and a Lettie Crow in Monroe County dated 20 Aug 1883. The older members of this family said they didn't know anything about her but her name might have been Etta Thomas. No one seemed to want to talk about her. I didn't find any of the other children, Effie A. born Sep. 1888 or Frank born Dec. 1897 on later census records. I didn't know who Matilda married until I saw your message. I also didn't find death certificates for them or Loretta. George lived in Allen County and later died in Monroe County in 1934. If I can be of further assistence, contact me.
Margie

JAMES HARRISON2 PROPES (JOHN1) was born November 14, 1887 in Tompkinsville, KY (Source: Death certificate.), and died June 15, 1957 in Tipton, IN (Source: Death certificate.). He married NANCY PEARL CAPPS May 22, 1909 in Tompkinsville, KY (Source: Marriage certificate.), daughter of JOHN CAPPS and MARY PRUITT.
Notes for NANCY PEARL CAPPS:
According to Nancy Arlene Hodges - There was a "scandal" around the time of the marriage of Nancy Pearl and James Harrison, which could have been that Anne was born in March 1909 and they were married in May 1909, making Anne two months old at the time. Is James Harrison the biological father? Nancy would have been pregnant at age 15 and married at age 16, while James Harrison was 22.

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918
about Right Capps
Name: Right Capps
County: Monroe
State: Kentucky
Birthplace: Kentucky
Birth Date: 8 Jul 1891
Race: Caucasian (White)
FHL Roll Number: 1653659
DraftBoard: 0

married.

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918
about Georgia B Capps
Name: Georgia B Capps
County: Monroe
State: Kentucky
Birthplace: Kentucky
Birth Date: 8 Jan 1897
FHL Roll Number: 1653659

employed by John Capps
born Vernon Ky

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918
about Tilda T Capps
Name: Tilda T Capps
County: Monroe
State: Kentucky
Birthplace: Kentucky
Birth Date: Oct 1895
FHL Roll Number: 1653659
DraftBoard: 0

Employed by John Capps

Kentucky Death Index, 1911-2000
about George B Capps
Name: George B Capps
Death Date: 16 Nov 1981
Death Place: Monroe
Age: 086
Residence: Monroe
Volume: 57
Certificate: 28329

Kentucky Death Index, 1911-2000
about Tee Capps
Name: Tee Capps
Death Date: 11 Feb 1978
Death Place: Monroe
Age: 091
Residence: Monroe
Volume: 9
Certificate: 4381

Kentucky Death Index, 1911-2000
about Dan D Capps
Name: Dan D Capps
Death Date: 24 Dec 1957
Death Place: Monroe
Age: 055
Residence: Ind
Volume: 55
Certificate: 27493

Maybe by getting obituaries you could learn more..Ky death certif's I think still cost $6.00

A volunteer,
Shelley

We had a family reunion for descendants of William (b. 1794SC) and Samuel DeWhitt (b. 1792 SC) with descendants of Joseph DeWhitt (b. 1800 KY) attending in June 2009 in Monroe, County, KY. We had had Y-chromosome DNA testing done on one descendant of William (b. 1794) and one descendant of Joseph. There was 1-mutation difference which definitely established they were descended from the same male in the past. The site of the mutation can have a change or mutation as often as every 200 years. If we do more testing we might be able to establish when it occured. What is not certain until we test more people is if William and Joseph were brothers, cousins, or exactly what? We are still looking for other people who would be willing to be tested. Our website has information on all of these men. You can e-mail me at motherrolph@yahoo.com. Our DeWhitt/Dewitt website is free, but password protected.

Joann
Sarah Ann Monroe is my great-great grandmother. I have this info about her:
Sarah Ann Monroe married Eli Amick 29 February 1848 in Randolpy County, MO. They moved to Howard County where they had four children.
William Preston Amick, born 20 November 1848 in Howard County. He married Alice Elizabeth Chancellor on 26 October 1876 in Howard County, MO (Marriage Book 4, p. 257). They are my great grandparents. Wm. P. died 8 April 1915.
Sophia Ann was born 3 August 1851 in Howard County, MO. Sophia married William Clinton Watts on 18 April 1870 in Howard County (Marriage book 4, p.146. She died 20 March 1878.
Henderson Eli was born in Howard County about 1853. He married Louisa Watts on 14 July 1878 in Howard County.
(Marriage book 4 p.292) H. Eli died 5 April 1893.
Mary, according to the 1960 census was born about 1856. I have no info on her.
Sarah died 1856-1858 because on 7 November 1858 Eli married Margaret Jane Quinley, widow of Richmond Quinley. Eli and Margaret had no children. In the 1860 census are listed Henry 12, James 9, and John 7. These are 'Quinley' boys, the sons that Margaret brought to the marriage.
Do you know the name of Sarah's parents? I have no info on them.
Glenda

Sarah Ann Monroe married Eli Amick in Randolph County, Missouri on 29 February 1848. (Marriage Book A page 111). Their children were William Preston(he was my great grandfather),Henderson Eli, and Mary, but James Quintley was not their son. James Quinley came to the family with Margaret Jennings Quinley, who Eli married after Sarah's death. James did not use the name "Amick".
I would like very much to learn about her parents.

Hi Barbara, I just now read your post on the Hutchens reunion. Wish I had known about it sooner. My great-grandmother was Dappy Hutchens Cloyd Simms. She married William Moses Cloyd and had two sons. My grandfather Dave Oliver Cloyd was the youngest. His dad died when he was two and she later married Will Simms. I have one aunt living in Glasgow, it would have been nice to have met family. Was there any one at the reunion might have old pic's of family members. I would like to hear about the reunion and learn more about our family. Thanks, Diana Brownfield
