I am more than fashionably late to this party, but Benjamin C. Ford b. 1815 was my great-great-great-grandfather.
He had William Grant Ford @ 1837 ->
WG had George Washington Ford @ 1874
GW had William Joseph Ford @ 1898
WJ had Edwin Thomas Ford @ 1929
ET had me @ 1973.
I am open communication from those related to me.Ivan__Ford@hotmail.com
EDIT For clarification:
"New information provided to me indicates that Benjamin C. FORD was probably the son of Thomas andx Margaret (CHAPMAN) FORD. This Thomas was probably the brother of the Loyd FORD who married Patience Colgate BILLINGSLY."
He must be right, this is what I have in my tree from other genealogy work and records. Also many DNA matches to Chapman lineage; too many to disregard.
I have this Thomas' parents as Thomas 1756-1830 & Nancy Wood b. @ 1765 (I think she was a cousin to Mary Wood and likely one reason to confuse this Thomas' with the numerous other Thomas Fords or to think him directly descended from Lloyd Ford Jr. (d. 1843), BUT, this particular Thomas Ford "Sr." would have been a son of Lloyd Sr. & Mary Grant.
I know that I've had a hard time distinguishing between Benjamin C(hapman?) Ford and Ben W. Ford b. @ 1807-1810 with both living in Monroe County, KY.
