I am trying to find information on my uncle. Henry Clay Fields was the son of Jim Fields and Nancy Ann Gibson Fields. About all I know of him, is that he shot himself in Metcalfe Country, KY in the early 1900's. My siblings say they remember him vaguely, but don't remember when he died. From what they tell me, I'm guessing it was in the 30's or 40's and he was in his 30's or 40's at the time. I would like to hear from anyone with ANY kind of info that might lead me to his dob and dod.

(Not my family -- I have no additional information.)

In the 'Russell County [KY] News', 15 Janaury 1942; article reprinted from the Greensburg KY 'Record-Herald':

Suicide Victim Buried Saturday

Rites for Henry Fields, 46, suicide victim, were held Saturday afternoon near Red Lick.
Fields, Edmonton resident, took his life late Friday afternoon by pulling the trigger on a shotgun which he had pointed against his heart. A long stick was used to pull the trigger.
The incident occurred in a cedar grove thicket about one mile from Edmonton and just off the Columbia road. Oris Coomer and son-in-law of Fields were nearby at the time and flagged down Deputy Sherrif Dalton Bowles who happened to be passing along the highway.
Fields had been despondent for several days and it is alleged that he had made known his intention of taking his own life.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six children.

Trudie,
We were in contact before and I lost your email address. We were working on the England family together.
Could we take up where we left off?
Thank you,
Mary Beth
