The 1900 census has my grandfather Robert Smallert (Smalley) & his sister living with Their aunt Nancy Lane. She married Malcom A. Lane in Ky.. Drucilla also living with them and her last name is misspelled as Cranch. They have her down as mother to Malcom, but she is Nancy's. 1880 Cencus has Nancy J as 9 years old, and David is dead.
The last name is spelled Crounch. I am hoping this is the same family. I could not find any Crounch's in 1870 or 1900 in the area. Thanks for 1840.

It's so great to be able to make these connections with your information. I really appreciate it. I will continue to send along whatever I uncover....even about the Cronchs who married my side of the family...Goben. There are frequently little clues that correspond with another family and lead to greater understanding. Again...thank you so much. By the way, I now live in Portland Oregon, but I have a researcher who lives in Evansville IN and has been able to look up records. Her name is Brenda Joyce Jerome, and she is quite good. Ann

Please do. I started this a wedding gift for my grandson and a remeberence for my father & son. Now I'm compulsed. If you have anyone you nedd to look up from Mo there is agreat free site www.sos.mo.gov.com. U can look up death certifates from 1910-1956 & get a printout of the actual Mo death cert.. They also have a pre 1910 but it seems scarse with the counties that I need. I live just outside of St. Louis, MO.

Ann, Are you still looking for David Robert Cronch's father? He was John Cronch b. 1797 Davidson Co., NC d.26 Dec 1856 Graves Co., Ky. His parents were John and Elizabeth. John married Mary Reed 7 Nov 1825 in Rowan Co., NC. Mary was b. 1798 Rowan Co., NC & died after 1870 which she was living in Graves, KY. This is where I am now.

Yes,,,I did have most of that info, but that doesn't mean that I wans't pleased to get your email. I didn't have the name "Elizabeth". It is amazing how every little piece of information is exciting.
Are you related to the Cronchs or just an interested genealogist? My paternal Grandmother was Ida Ann (Cronch)Goben. I have been trying to get an idea of the Cronch nationality prior to coming to the United States. Do you have any information that might lead to identifying the Cronch nationality? Ann in Portland Oregon

Sarilda Cronch is my paternal Great Grandmother. David and Drucilla were my great great grandparents. I have no idea of their nationality. I was never interested in the past till my father died & he always wanted to know about his father. He died when my Dad was 3. Then I find out that his Dad's parents Sarilda and James C. Smalley died before he was 11. His granmother & Aunt Nancy raised him. It seems the courthouse had a fire and lost a lot of records. That must be why I can't find death records for them or David Cronch. This is kind of like keeping their memory going.
