I am doing research on this as well. I have found his parents to be Zadoc Brooks and Elizabeth Ricketts. I can not find anything on the parents of Zadoc,etc. and have not continued the trail with Elizabeth as of yet. I know this doesn't help but if I do have quite a bit of information, or descendants at least from John Thomas Brooks to the present.
