Dr. Joseph Edward McKinney was my family doctor when I was growing up. His wife (maiden-name Garnett) was my paternal grandmother's step-niece. Dr. & Mrs. McKinney lived in Huntington Park in Aberdeen OH. I remember his being very drawn-over with rheumatoid arthritis (reason he became an MD). He was usually seen with his cigarette in its long holder, very dapperly dressed, usually with a bow-tie and often a vest. This, along with his shiny gold bifocals, always reminded me of Burgess Meredith"s portrayal of the "Penguin" on 1960s TV show, "Batman".
Dr. McKinney was from Rowan County (Morehead), KY. He went to med school and become an MD when he was in his 40s. Previously, he had been an attorney & practiced law in Morehead, where he also served as Rowan County Court Clerk for several terms as a Republican.
