I am searching for information on Mitchell Perry who was married in Martin County, Ky, on January 30,1892.
Does anyone out there know the name of Mitchell Perry's first wife. Following is limited information on Mitchell Perry's ancestors and descendants: Mitchell Perry was born October 24, 1834 in Pike County, KY. His parents were George W. Perry, b. 1811 in Pike Co, KY and Rebecca Syck, b. c 1809. George and Rebecca were married November 29, 1829 in Pike Co. KY. George Perry is the son of Elizabeth Perry, b. c. 1790 and ?????. Elizabeth is the daughter of Abraham Perry and Mary Roberson of Bertie Co. NC. Mitchell married 1st time to (???????) in Pike, Floyd or Johnson Co. KY in the 1852-1855 time period and had the following children, Rhenda or Marinda, b. 1856, Louisia, b. 1859, John Wesley, b. March 1861 and William Everett b. November 1865. Mitchell served in the Civil War from July 24, 1863 to December 24, 1864. He was in Company B of the 45th KY Volunteer Mounted Infantry. Divorced from wife No. 1, he was married November 02, 1871 in Wayne County, WV to Rebecca Lester, b. 1844 dtr. of Elihu Luster/Lester and Malinda Asbury. To Mitchell and Rebecca Lester/Luster Perry were born in Wayne County, WV the following children, Ollie Frances, Oct. 1869, James Albert, Feb. 1872, Idella, 1873, George Floyd, apr. 2, 1876 and Anna, 1878. He met Nancy Harriet Williamson, b. Feb. 7, 1848, daughter of Alden Washington and Clarissa Marcum Williamson. Alden Williamson was the son of Richard Williamson and Jane Wiley. Jane was the daughter of Thomas and Jenny Sellards Wiley. Nancy had been married to Morgan Messer and had the following children: Richard, Jacob, and Washington Messer. Mitchell and Nancy lived in Kentucky (Martin, Pike, Floyd,area) and had the following children: Jesse, b. July 22, 1881, Ira J., b. September 15, 1884, Martha Jane, b. May 28, 1887 and Marion Francis, b. 1888-1889. Mitchell & Nancy were married, January 30, 1892 in Martin County, KY. They moved to Wayne County, WV in the early 1900's. Mitchell bought a farm in 1906 at East Lynn, WV and lived there until his death in late May, 1920. He is buried on this farm along with Nancy and her brother Moses Williamson. He has a military marker. Nancy died May 12, 1929. My father, Alvin Perry, b. March 27, 1916, ownes this farm and has lived there his entire life. Alvin is the son of Ira J. Perry and Sarah Ann Finley. Mitchell is my great grandfather. I have other information if anyone is interested. Thanks for your interest.
