William Thomas Barrett was the father of Jesse Barrett who was the father of Finis Ruel, among others. Finis's mother was the former Luna jones. I will send more in an e-mail. Jesse was apparently named after Mary Alice's brother, Jesse.

My family and other Fooks relatives recently made a wonderful trip to the Fooks Cemetery in Marshall co., Ky. Of course, though we only took pictures of the Fookes and related relatives in the old part of the cemetery. It is located on Mt. Moriah Rd., CR 1610 near the community of Sharpe. Use mapquest with the above address or put into your GPS and it is an easy drive. Cemetery is well maintained and is in a beautiful location. Sorry I couldn't help more than that.

Thanks for catching this request. My information is from the Kentucky Death Index at Anc.com. It says only that place of death Hardin, residence Hardin. From what I know the county is not mentioned. Any input would be appreciated, and I would certainly help on infomration requests from central Pennsylvania.

I can not help you with a transcription but the location, according to USGNIS, is:

North of Hwy 68 on Mt. Moriah Road. It is on the East side of the road between Darnell Road and Dunnigan Lane.

There death certificates state they were buried in Fooks Cemetery in Marshall Co., KY

I checked USGenweb.org Marshall Co., KY for transcribed cemetery records, Fooks Cemetery was not listed. Does anyone know if there are plans to transcribe the burials at Fooks Cemetery?

Alice Faye Medley b. 08 Jul 1912 in IL d. 24 Oct 1999 Paducah, McCracken Co., KY.

She was married two times, 1st. William G. Brian and 2nd. Unknow Taylor. This is info was obtained from other researchers. Not sure of the reliability.

Supposedly, she is buried in the Fooks Cemetery in Marshall Co., KY. I am trying to confirm she is buried at that cemetery & if she was buried with one of her husbands.

Hello,
Just wanted to pass along that my wife and i stopped by the Twin Lakes Antique Mall in Draffenville, KY today.
Just so happens i noticed a big old photo on the wall for sale that i hadn't noticed before.
When i flipped it over it had the name and the family history on the back, but it was 200.00 dollars so sorry to say i didn't get it. I thought instead i'd post my find here and if anyone is interested i can help you get it home.
The name on the back was Andrew Jackson Starks father of Ella Starks-Smith, plus a full story on his history.
I've attached a photo i took with my phone for everyone.

i have been to the libraey all morning looking for a will that he may have left, but nothing.
he was born around 1780 or so, his father was william bond that settled in caldwell co ky, his mother was frances winfry.
they came to caldwell co from nc and settled there by 1810.
thomas was married to elizabeth harrington?
i thing, but i dont know were they married?
he died in 1850 marshall co ky, have no knowledg were he may be buried?
his wife elizabeth i think died in 1852..same county..
he had a son, willam bond, that iam looking for..
but,have not found yet..

Former Oran Resident Rites Here Monday

Last rites were held Monday
afternoon in the Earl J. Smith
Funeral Home for William R.
( Jack ) DePriest, twin brother of
Jas. DePriest of Chaffee, but a
former resident for many years of
Oran. The deceased was born in
Morgansfield, Kentucky on De-
cember 21st, 1897, and passed
away in Kansas City Wednesday,
February 24th. The family came
to the viciinity when the children
were small, and when about 17
or 18 years of age, Jack as he was
called by his friends left here, and
for some time was a resident of
Michigan. Surviving are his wife,
two brothers, Jas. his twin, and
Truman of Kevil, Kentucky, 2
sisters, Mrs. Barney Pugh and Mrs.
L.B. Messner both of Lansing,
Michigan, who were here for the
services as were the brothers and
family. Rev. Wm. Wolfe, pastor of
Trinity church had charge of the
service conducted at the Smith
Funeral Home. Other relatives
present were Mrs. Snaks, and
daughter, Mrs. Fran LeGrand of
Blythesville, Arkansas, for many
years Oran residents. Interment
was in the Friend Cemetery with
the Earl J. Smith Funeral Home in
charge of the arrangements. The
Smith ambulance made the trip
to Kansas City Wednesday night
for the body returning to Oran
Thursday.

I don't know if this helps but my gg-grandfather John Marcu Phillips (b. 7 Jan 1820 Davidson Co. TN, d. 28 Oct. 1874 Marshall Co. KY) married (13 Jan 1846, Rutherford Co. TN) Margaret caroline Pugh (b. 29 Nov 1830 Rutherford Co. TN, d. 4 Nov 1885 Marshall Co. KY).
Caroline Pugh's parents were Josepgh Pugh and Anne Chism
I don't know if Caroline Pugh was any relation to any other Marshall Co Pugh's.
