Former Oran Resident Rites Here Monday
Last rites were held Monday afternoon in the Earl J. Smith Funeral Home for William R. ( Jack ) DePriest, twin brother of Jas. DePriest of Chaffee, but a former resident for many years of Oran. The deceased was born in Morgandfield, Kentucky on December 21st, 1987, and passed away in Kansas City Wednesday, February 24th. The family came to the vicinity when the children were small and when about 17 or 18 years of age. Jack as he was called by his friends left here and for some time was a resident of Michigan. Surviving are his wife, two brothers, Jas. his twin, and Ttuman of Kevil, Kentucky, two sisters, Mrs. Barney Pugh and Mrs. L.B. Messer both of Lansing, Michigan, who were here for the services as were the brothers and family. Rev. Wm. Wolfe, pastor of Trinity church had charge of the service conducted at the Smith Funeral Home. Other relatives present wereMrs. Snaks, and daughter, Mrs. Fran LeGrand of Blythesville, Arkansas, for many years Oran residents. Interment was in the Friend Cemetery with the Earl J. Smith Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. The Smith ambulance made the trip to Kansas City Wednesday night for the body returning to Oran Thursday.
