I am seaking info. about Dudley, Albert, Frank, Wilson, Ellen and Elvira Ballentine from the Cadiz and later Eddiville areas of Western KY. They have been a hard case to crack. Anyone with any Ballentine info. from this area would be much appreciated as my efforts have yielded little about them. There are no apparent records of their burial locations or origins. I would greatly oblige anyone with the little documentation I do have on them. Please help if you have anything to add. Thank You.

BLANCHE DUDLEY DABNEY --1906

Twice-A-Week-Leader
Princeton, Ky.
August 17 1906

In memory of Mrs. Blanche Dudley Dabney by Rev. T. E. Richey.

Mrs. Blanche Dabney, (nee Dudley) was born in Eddyville, Ky. forty six years ago and died in Kansas City, Missouri. August 9 1906. She was married to David Dabney, September 8, 1880.

It was my pleasure to know her intimately from early girlhood. It is true that often obituary notices are saturated with fulsome eulogy utterly unmerited, but with unfeigned earnestness I record it without reserve, that Mrs. Dabney was always one of the very purest, sweetest, harvesters of earth, in doubt by nature with an even temper which, in early life, was sweetened and developed by the sanctifying power of the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ, she was a shining star wherever she went. In the family circle as daughter, as wife, as mother, she faithfully discharged the respective obligations of each position. As neighbor, each community in which her lot has been cast will gladly testify to her superior worth. In the social circle she was always a beacon light safe to follow, in the Baptist Church, of which she was a devoted member from early life, she was a pattern of consecration, consistency, faithfulness and zeal. But the time came at last for her to lay down the burdens of this earthly life. Her affliction, which ended in death was severe and long protracted, yet borne with sublime patience and resignation.

When she was told there was no hope for recovery, she said "I hate to leave you my dear ones, but I must", and calmly she divided some treasures among her children, telling them how she loved them and bade them to meet her in heaven. She is gone. Her work is done. No more toil, no more pain, no more disappointment, no more heartaches. ****************line unreadable*********.
Blessed are the dead that died in the lord from henceforth yea saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works, do follow them.

Asleep in Jesus blessed sleep
From which none ever wakes to weep ;
A common undisturbed  repose
Unbroken by the last of foes

Asleep in Jesus!
