Smith Gibson, 64, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Alive Hospice Skyline
Madison Campus,
Madison, Tenn., following a long battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 16, 1944, in Lyon County, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ruby
Smith, she was a member of First
Baptist Church of Goodlettsville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Lynn Smith; grandparents, Roy and Mae Anderson; and David and Tylene
Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Gibson; two daughters, Gretta Guess
Bowersox and
Christie Guess; five grandchildren, Terry
Bowersox, Daniel
Bowersox, Christine
Bowersox, Craig Guess and Brandon Guess; three great-grandchildren, Trey, Jacob and
Ashton, all of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Lynn
Smith of
Springfield, Tenn.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Bobby
Conquest of Ridgetop, Tenn., Barbara and Clifton
Clift Jr. and Cheryl
Cavanah, all of
Princeton, and Betty and Rodney
Polk of Kuttawa.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at Cole-Garrette Funeral Home at Goodlettsville, Tenn., with the Rev. Doug
Anderson, the Rev. Mike
Dawson and the Rev. Tom
Huls officiating.
Burial followed in Middle
Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery in Nashville, Tenn., on Wednesday, June 3
