Hello,
I am hoping someone from the Lyon County area can remember an old blind black man that used to play the blues in front of the old grocery store in Grand Rivers, across the street from the Iron Kettle Restaurant. If my memory serves correctly, his name was Thurman Parrish and he used to sit and play his guitar in front of the entrance of the grocery store for tips that would be put into his hat. I used to stand and listen to him play while my folks would shop for groceries.
I would like to know if I have his name correct, where he might be buried, and anyone's memories of him. If anyone can remember him, could you please respond?
Thank you,
Dave Chasteen
