Maxie G. “Fuzzy” Cotton, 78, of the Lamasco Community in Lyon County, died Saturday March 1, 2008, at 12:45 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital, following a long illness.
A retired laborer for TVA for 26 years, Army veteran, member of Lamasco Baptist Church, Parkersville Masonic Lodge, American Legion and V.F.W., he was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Lyon County, a son of the late Robert Melvin and Gertie Parrent Cotton.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Cotton.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Kennedy Cotton; two sons, Gerald Cotton of Lyon County and Ray Cotton of Caldwell County; a daughter, Pam Truitt of Paducah; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Shaw, Jalynn Shaw, Elisha Brown, Clay Cotton, Tyler Truitt and Max Truitt; a step-grandson, Brett Whitney; a brother, Robert Hale Cotton of Weimar, Calif; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 4, at 1 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Ray and the Rev. Ronnie Fox officiating.
Burial will follow in Gray Cemetery in Lyon County.
Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
