Seeking help with the family of Kelsey "Kels" & Minnie (HUGHES) LAWS. Kels, b 1883, NC & d 03 Jul 1958, Laurel Co, KY and Minnie, b 1883, Yancey Co, NC & d 11 Dec 1947, Laurel Co, KY are listed on the 1910 Whitley Co Federal Census, family #124. Kels is listed as Calvin. They had three sons in 1910; George, age 5, Joseph, age 3 and Arthur, age 3 months. Living in the household were Joseph LAWS, 24, Kel's brother, and Jerry JONES, 21, Minnie's nephew. Also living in the household was Flora HUGHES, Minnie's mother. All adult males were coal miners. Minnie & Kels had two more children: Kelsey "Kels" who was born and died on 26 Apr 1911 in Whitely Co and Christine, born 02 Feb 1914 in Bell Co, KY. Flora Ann (BAILEY) HUGHES was my gr-gr-gr grandmother. She was born about 1847 in Yancey Co, NC to Jesse & Emelia (CURTIS) BAILEY. She married Jeremiah HUGHES in NC and died in Whitley in 1927. Jerry JONES, born 12 May 1888, Mitchell Co, NC to Dock & Mary Etta (HUGHES) JONES. This 1910 census is the only record I can find on the family. Any little crumb of information would be helpful.
