"MILLS, DUNCAN, CARMAN, WILLIAMS, SUTTON, LARUE, SUTTON" Posted, Tue Jun 23, 1998 by W.C. MILLS, I am looking for the parents of Thomas B. MILLS, he was b. Oct 31 1824, at Kentucky, died Dec 29, 1911 at the home of his oldesst son John Duncan MILLS, at RAywick, Marion Co., KY, m. Sept 15, 1846 at Hodgenville, (then Hardin Co.) to Elizabeth DUNCAN, the daughter of John and Anna CARMAN DUNCAN. They had twelve children as follows: (1) John Duncan MILLS b. Jan 20 1848, at South Folk, LaRue Co. died Jan 21, 1929 at Raywick, Marion Co., m. Dec 26, 1871 to Martha A. WADE who was b. Dec 1843, at Marion Co. KY d. after 1920. (2) Charles W. MILLS, b. abt 1849 at Southgate, LaRue Co., KY, d. after 1880 probabley KS was living iat Allen Co. KS 1880, m. 1875 at Sarcosie TWP, Jefferson Co., KS to Hannah from MO.(3) Benjamin F. MILLS, (my grandfather) b. Mar 8 1851, at Southfork, LaRue Co., KY m. Jan 2, 1873 at Sarcoxie TWP, Jefferson Co., Kansas to Mary L. DUNCAN the daughter of John DUNCAN (not John DUNCAN who was his grandfather) she was b. Jul 2, 1854 at Gentryville, Gentry Co., MO her parents were married at Lincoln or Harrison Co. KY abt 1845 Benjmin and Mary had six children, (i) Sarah E. b. 1874, at Jefferson Co. KS; (ii) James M. b. 1876, (iii)Freddie b. 1878 the first three were in the 1880 US Census of Jefferson Co. KS. I could find no other records of them; except in the family bible. (iv) Alice Murry b. sep 1879, Sarcoxie TWP, Jefferson Co. KS d. Jul 5, 1837 at Spadra, Johnson Co. Arkansas, m. Charlie McLAREN at Coal Hilll, Johnson Co., AR; (v) Thomas John MILLS (my Father) b. Louisville, Jefferson Co. KY, Oct 13, 1881, died Aug 13 1934, Clarksville, Johnson Co. AR, m. Dec 14, 1902 at Fort Smith, Sabastian Co., AR to Maud Mae HOBAUGH, she was orphaned at a very young and and apopted by Joseph and Alice SOUTH BOLAM of Hartford, Sabastian Co., AR, she was the the daughter of John Carl HOBAUGH and Martha Lucinda McCASLIN, b. Mar 1, 1888 at Lehigh, Coal Co., IT (non Oklahoma) d. Aug 11, 1968 at Clarkville, Johnson Co., AR. (4) Margaret Ann (Maggie MILLS, b. Jul 25, 1852 to Hodgenville, LaRue Co, KY, died aft 1921, m. Green Cundiff FARIS Sep 30, 1874 at Hodgenville, LaRue Co. KY. Martha (Mattie) MILLS, b. Dec 6, 1855 at Hodgenville, LaRue Co., KY, m Thatcher SUTTON Aut 27, 1874 at Raywick, Marion Co., KY, she was a dress maker in business at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY for many years beginning in 1875; (6) Thomas E. MILLS, b.Sep 3, 1856 at Hodgenville, LaRue Co., d. 1886/87 at Louisville, Jefferson Co.. m. Maggie 1880/1886 at Louisville. (7) George W. MILLS, b. 1859 at Lebanon, Marion Co. (8) Elizabeth MILLS b. 1859 at Lebanon, (9) Mary C. MILLS (twin) b. 1859, at Lebanon; (10) Nancy (Nannie) Mills b 1860 at Lebanon; (11)Alice Mills b/ 1865 at Raywick, (12) Adaline/Angeline, b. 1867 at Raywick, b. 1887 to ?, Bennett. Thomas B. moved his family to Louisville 1875 and worked for Mattingly Milling Co, for many years before retiring and moving back to Raywick and living with his son John D. I will gladly exchange info with any one related to any of these families,
