Your information is great. I can't put my fingers on my notes of the siblings of George and Mary Jane, but I have some names similar and others you don't list. I have a Luther, John, and William as well as a Frank, Ed, Joseph and Otto plus one that I don't have a name. I can remember meeting an Uncle Luther and Frank when I was a child. Where did you find your list of children?
On the 1900 Census there is a George W. and Mary Jane in the Sonoma Precinct (Roll #524, Hardin Co, Dist #4, Sht 11, ED 42 Dwelling 212/family 213). Birth months are 1/1830 for GW and 2/1836 for MJ. Mother of 9 children. GW's father and mother were born in VA (see below 1850 census) and MJ's were both KY. George was listed as a Farmer. Both could read and write. They owned their home.
The 1850 census lists a John MARCUM and wife, Mary with 9 children. They were in Greene CO, Dist 1, #0004, Page 79. John is 52 listed as a Farmer, born in VA. Mary is 52. Also listed are Franis Lasley 32 F; Margaret Marcum 28 F; John R. 23 M; George W 21 M; Thomas B 18 M; James H 16 M; Daniel F 13 M; Lucy J ? F; Mary T 9 F; Andy B 8 M. You have listed a John, barnett, Thomas, and William. How did you come by these names and do they tie in with the 1850 census?
I think these are the GW and MJ that we both are dealing with. I need to find my notes to tell me sources, etc. as I have spouses and children listed for siblings of my Lucy.

I noticed in your info yo have GW dying after 1860. Why?
His children (assuming he was the only husband of MJ) were born according to your info through 1878.

I agree with the calculations of GW and MJ's marriage, although I have listed 1850. Where did you find 1851?

Where is Lower Bush Creek?

My Lucy given name was Lucy Green MARCUM. She married James Thomas Willett Dec 18, 1888 in Elizabethtown at the Court House. James was a widower with a son. She was born April 17, 1870 and this is confirmed in the 1900 Census as well as on my mother's birth certificate. Lucy died May 14, 1934. I believe she was born in Upton, KY, either in LaRue or Hardin Co. Family stories were that she was named after her mother's maiden name which is why I listed Mary Jane as a Green. I recently found a cousin and I'll check with her on some of this information you've sent, especially the CAVEN and WOOLDRIDGE surnames.

I received a bit of information on MARCUMS taken from Ancestry.com that lists in 1860 a George W., Green Co, KY, p 642 Greensburg and in 1870 George W 1870 Green Co, KY p 499 Lower Brush Crk Prect.
There were also several Johns: John 1860 Cen Green Co., KY p 638 Greensburg; John 1860 Green Co., KY Greensburg p 638; John H 1860 Green Co., KY p 654 Allendale and John 1870 Green Co, KY p 492 Lower Brush Crk Prec.; John R 1870 Green Co, KY p 410 Greensburg Prec.; John 1830 Green Co, KY p 005 NTL, John 1810 Green Co., KY p 253 21001-11001-11; John 1830 Green Co., KY p 005 NTL. Does any of this tie in with your documentations?

Don't mean to bore you, but you've given me lots of questions. Thank you.

How are you related to these Marcum's?
