Please everyone check your Ward trees. James Ward that married Sarah Osborn Ward is NOT THE SAME person OR the father of PIONEER JAMES WARD (B.Fincastle VA 1758 - D.1848 Martin Co. KY). James Ward of Martin Co. was married to Elizabeth Williamson 1810 dau of Alden Williamson and Elizabeth Jackson. Children were: Sarah(Copley; Alafair (Crum);Elizabeth (Delong); James JR. (Cynthia Young); Wells (m. Senna Preston) Margaret (Conley), Soloman(Lucretia Porter. He died soon after marriage and Lucretia remarried Alex Cassady); Nathaniel (Araminta Preston sis of Senna); George Washington (Nancy Clay); Morgania (Murry); Emanuel( Matlida Mosely, he died from wounds suffered in Georgia in Civil War. ----------- Often, trees are listing James Ward Jr.(b.1785) of Johnson Co. son of James ward and Sarah, as Pioneer James Ward.
