Martin Co 1848) settled in what is now Martin Co.in 1810 m. Elizabeth Williamson. ----I have corresponded with the author of Thompson / Ward and she said she found NO connection between those Va. Wards and our Big Sandy Wards. Elizabeth Jane Ward, though, who married (I think off the top of my head) a George Delong and moved to the Big Sandy IS a descendant of the Ward / Thompson line!
