I am looking for information on William Linville Isaacs , Isaac Isaacs and Armon Isaacs of Jackson and Estill counties. I would like to know if anyone has a picture of Armon Isaacs 1887-1889 born in Oklahoma. He is my husband's grandfather. Thanks. Wanda

Shelia, Thanks for the information. Do you have or do you know anyone who does have a picture of William Linville Isaacs. Have you done a lot of research on the Isaacs family? I understand that the cabin that William Linville built has been restored and someone lives in it now. I still have hope of getting out to Jackson Co. one day and seeing it. Wanda, I don't know exactly where the cabin is, but I've heard someone lives in it. I would love to see it too. I have some information on the Isaacs, but not allot. It is harder to get the information you need on your in-laws side of the family, I will keep trying. Thanks, Shiela

Ladies, You will be pleased to know that yes there is someone living in the home. Demi Wallace and her husband have restored it. It is absolutely beautiful. There is a Hisel/Lainhart/Isaacs homecoming there each year. The first Saturday of July. I was able to attend this year. It was awesome. If you would like more information about it, please let me know. The homestead is in Hisel, Ky. Post Office for that area is McKee, Ky. It is off of a paved road but not at all hard to get to. William Linville sold the place to his half sister and her husband. It has stayed in the family through their descendents. If you are able to attend the homecoming, it would be an experience that you would forever remember. My grand daughter and daughter and I stayed there this year. Imagine, a 5th great grandchild staying there. She is only 7yrs old and had the best time there imagining (with my help) what it would have been like there as a child. Linville was a brother to Vicey Triplett,daughter of Elijah Triplett. A story goes that Isaac Isaacs beat Vicey badly and she went home,her father warned Isaacs to stay away from Vicey and he left. Vicey got a divorce and remarried later.
Vicey,daughter of Elijah Triplett and Ursula M Knight,son of Daniel,son of Francis 3rd.son of Francis 2nd,son of Francis 1st,son of Thomas Triplett,a Rev in Northumberland,England. Linville and Vicey were born in Wilkes Co., NC and Linville went to Kentucky,he shows in 1850 census Floyd Co.,KY married to a Levisa. Hope this helps. According to court documents, Vicy deserted Isaac and their son Linville after two years of marriage. Isaac filed for a divorce at some point. The divorce papers were found in the Kentucky State Archives in Box 208, Bundle 415. The year 1836 was written on the outside of the bundle. That date coincides with the date that Vicy supposedly deserted Isaac. However the divorce was not granted until Tuesday, 24 March 1857.

I am acquainted with Isaac Isaacs and Vicy Isaacs. Isaac is said to be my son. Isaac and Vicy were married in Floyd County in KY sometime upwards of twenty years ago. I reckon they lived together as man and wife something like two years. So far as I know they lived together about two years, and Vicy Isaacs then went off and left her husband Isaac and as I understand went to North Carolina and has never lived with him since. She took up with another man after her separation with Isaac, and had several children. Isaac Isaacs was born and raised in this state and now lives in Madison county. He has never lived out of the state of KY They have never been together so far as I know since the separation and I have had every opportunity to know whether they have or not. – Godfrey Isaacs

I know that Isaac and Vicey Isaacs lived together as man and wife for about the time spoken of in Godfrey Isaacs deposition above. I think she went off and left hem abut the time Godfrey states and has never lived with him since. I saw Vicey where she started to go off. - James Isaacs----------

I have wondered if she ever remarried and who her other children were. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Did Vicey leave KY and go back to NC, as Godfrey said? What was her new married name? How many children did she have? William Linville was the son of Vicey and Isaac Isaacs. He was my third great grandfather. Isaac Isaacs had another family after he and Vicey went their seperate ways. There is another story told that when William Linville Isaacs was a young man he went in search of his mother. It is said that he did find her and when she saw him she fainted on the porch. If this story is true then that must have been an awesome reunion. Family stories and legends are something that have always intrigued me.....thus the quest for family has always been exciting for me.
