John Archibald HODGE (b 1815 KY) married Mary PARKER (b KY)in Hopkins County in 1845 and had children including Richard P. [possibly PARKER] HODGE, Sarah HODGE and Mary E. HODGE who in 1866 married Taylor H OSBURN in Hopkins County.. Mary PARKER HODGE had died by 1860 by which time John Archibald HODGE had married a Mildred ? b 1826 TN who had possibly previously been married to ? STROUD. John Archibald HODGE possibly acquired two stepchildren by this second marriage: Julia STROUD b 1848 TN and James H STROUD b 1851 TN. All five children were living with John Archibald and Mildred in 1860 in Nebo. Later John Archibald and Mildred had a child of their own called Archibald HODGE b 1868 TN. By 1870 all the other children had left home. Richard P. HODGE had married a Mary? [possibly HILL] b 1851 KY and they were living in Nebo with Polly HILL b 1819 KY, Albert HILL b 1841 KY and Sarah HILL b 1848 KY. By 1880, Richard P. and Mary HODGE were living without the HILLs but with their own children John Archibald HODGE b 1870 [probably Nebo, Hopkins County] KY and Mary E. HODGE b 1874 [probably Nebo, Hopkins County]. Richard P HODGE's address in each census was farmer but he is believed to have operated a tobacco factory at first in downtown Nebo ie in 1872 and later further out of Nebo. Does anyone have any information about these people?
