After John Wesley Pannell did not return from the Civil War (he died as a prisoner), Annie and her surviving children migrated from Sullivan County, Tennessee to Hart County, Kentucky where she had relatives.

Ron, Can you tell me if Luke Pannell Sr. was the son of Thomas Pannell married to Keziah ( maiden name unknown )
They had a daughter by the name of Martha "Patty or Patsy" Pannell that married David McAnnally in 1768 in Amherst Co. Va.

Renee, John W,. Pannell was a son of John Pannell and Katherine McAnally Pannell. I do not know if the "W" was Westley however he was the son of John Pannell and Katherine McAnally Pannell. There was more than one John W. Pannell. I am a grandson of Elias Washington Pannell and Marietta Gladney. Elias's Mother was Sarah Ann Shaddix Pannell. I think her husband was Wm. T. Pannell Sr. but I cannot prove it. She could have married John W. who was lost in the civil war and then married Wm. T. I don't know. I hope you have better luck than I. Benny Pannell
