Clerk of the County
Court within and for the County and State aforesaid, Elizabeth
Masters, age 68 a resident of
Hardin Kentucky who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of Joseph
Masters who enlisted under the name of Joseph
Masters on the 18th September A.D. 1862 in Co. C 18 Reg
Pennsylvania Cav as a Private and served at least ninety days in the late war of the Rebellion, who; was Honorably Discharged and died on the 29th day of Feb 1904.
That she was married under the name of Elizabeth
Fox, to said Jospeh
Masters, on 28th February 1856 by J.T.Smith at
Green County Pennsylvania there being no legal barrier to such marriage neither of them had been previously married.
That she has not remarried since the death of Joseph
Masters.
