I'm writing a book about Ft. Amanda 1812. Charles Craycraft was stationed there Mar - Aug. 1813.
Craycraft, Charles (1783 –1857) Charles Craycraft was a 30 year old corporal in Captain Thompson Wards company at Fort Amanda. He was born in Hampshire Co, Virginia on Jan. 30, 1783. On Dec. 12, 1809, in Greenup, Kentucky, he married Sarah Stevenson, daughter of Richard & Ursula Wood Stevenson. Craycraft was a corporal in Thompson Wards company and was stationed at Fort Amanda. In 1850, 67 year old Charles and 56 year old Sarah were still living in Greenup County, Kentucky and his occupation was listed as “farmer”. Charles died in May 7, 1857 and wife Sarah in Oct. 11, 1876.
