Mrs. Tarah Shirrell Atwell Higgason, daughter of the late Mr. Curtis Shirrell and Mrs. Anna Brown Shirrell was born 14 Sept 1909 in Green Co. and departed this life at 7:20 pm Thurs. 22 Jan 1987 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was 77 years, 4 months, and 8 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Trammell Creek Baptist Church at the time of her death. She first united in marriage to Mr. Cody Atwell on 16 Aug 1931. He preceded her in death on 23 Mar 1964. To this union was born 1 son: Mr. Cutis Gene Atwell, of Greensburg. She later united in marriage to Mr. Johnsy Wade Higgason on 15 Apr 1979. He preceded her in death on 29 Jun 1979. She is also survived by 1 step-daughter: Mrs. Francis Cox of Hodgenville; 1 brother, Mr. Taz Shirrell, of Greensburg; 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where services were conducted Sun., 25 Jan 1987 with burial in the Rayburn Family Cem. The Rev. Tommy Mitchell officiated. Pallbearers were Dennis Simpson, Ed Cox, Ray Davis, Woodrow McKinney, Aubrey Curry and Buford Pierce.
