Lucye Turner Hicks, 88, of 307 Durham St., Greensburg, died Thurs. 9 Apr [1987] at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born on 11 May 1898 in Green Co. to the late D. P. Turner and Emma Gorin Turner. She is survived by 5 nieces: Suzanne Taylor of Greensburg, Dot Pickett of Fl., Nadine Olander, Alline Wilkerson and Alta McConnell, all of Kansas. Two nephews: Louie Marshall and C.E. Marshall, both of Kansas. She was a retired school teacher and principal in the Jefferson Co. School System. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Greensburg and a member of the American legion Auxiliary. Funeral services were held Mon. at 11 am at the Foster-Jones & Toler funeral Home with burial in the Greensburg Cem. Rev. Odis Green officiated over the service with Frances Perkins and Bettie Jo Larimore providing the music. Pallbearers were William F. Taylor, Sr., Robert McGill, C.E. Marshall, Jr., Harold Heath, Mitchell Perry and L.D. Olander.
