Blanche Helm of 110 Hodges St., Greensburg Ky., daughter of the late William Bartholomew and Cordelia Blakeman Helm was born in Green Co., Ky. on 30 Oct 1893 and departed this life at 7:20 pm Tues, 15 Dec 1981 at the Jane Todd Crawford memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Ky. She was 88 years, 1 month and 15 days of age. She is survived by 1 sister, Miss Edna Helm, of Greensburg, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of the University of Ky. and had attended Columbia University and the College of New York. She had taught school and for 35 years had been a librarian before retirement. She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association. She had lived in Greensburg for the past 20 years and attended the Greensburg Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Thurs. 17 Dec 1981 at the Foster-Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. James E. Evan s and the Rev. Dwain DePew officiating. Burial was in the Helm Family Cem. at Glensfork, Ky, in Adair Co. Pallbearers were Bob Taylor Blakeman, George Olin Burress, Boy Jones, Chunky Clark, Henry C. Durham, and Edwin Shirley.
