Mr. William T. Hodges, son of the late Thornton Hodges and Mary Susan Williams Hodges was born 20 May 1897 in Green Co. and departed this life at 1:00 am Sat., 19 Mar 1983 at the Veterans Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He was 85 years, 9 months and 27 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jacob Grove Baptist Church at the time of his death. Mr. Hodges was also a member of the Goldenwing Lodge 155, and a veteran of WWI. He united in marriage to Gertrude C. Williams on 23 Sept 1918, who preceded him in death on 5 Mar 1968. To this union was born 1 son and 4 daughters: Miss Georgia C. Hodges of Louisville; William T. Hodges, of Ohio; Mrs. Fannye M. Norman, Philadelphia, Pa; Mrs. Louise Seace of Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs. Lillian Mickens, of Louisville. he is survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and 4 step-grandchildren. Also surviving is 1 niece, Elsie Ford of Indiana, along with a host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at the Jacob Grove Baptist church, Wed. 23 mar 1983 at 12:00 pm with burial in the Cave Spring Cem. Rev. Walton Johnston officiated. Pallbearers were Earl Nedby, George Simpson, George Owens, Ivory VanCleave, Wallace VanCleave and Shirley Williams.
