HUGHES, ANNA RENEE
The niece of Greensburg attorney Bill Colvin was Sun. 29 Dec [1985] when the auto in which she was riding collided head-on with another vehicle in Metcalfe Co., according to state police. A police spokesman said Anna Renee Hughes, 17, Rt. 2, Edmonton, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Metcalfe Co. coroner. Driver of the car, Charles A. Harper II, 18, Rt. 1, Edmonton, was taken to the Bowling Green Medical Center for treatment of injuries he received in the accident, the spokesman said. Michael Wayne Reece, 26 Rt. 1, Edmonton, driver of the other vehicle, escaped injury. The spokesman said the accident occurred about 12:15 pm 3 miles west of Edmonton on the old Glasgow Rd. as the teenagers were returning home from church. Tpr. Don Pierce, who investigated the accident, reported that seat belts were not in use in either vehicle.

Miss Hughes is survived by her mother, Sue Bell, Edmonton; her father, Charles Hughes, Louisville; a sister, Tina Hughes, Edmonton; 2 brothers, Charles Hughes and Joseph Bell, both of Edmonton; her maternal grandmother, Agnes Colvin, Campbellsville; and her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Sara Hughes, Lebanon. Services were conducted Wed. 1 Jan at Christ the Healer Catholic Church, Edmonton, by F r. George Bowling with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
