Mr. Doyle Wilson Gumm, age 63, of Rt. 2, Greensburg, departed this life on Fri. 20 Nov at the Louisville VA Hospital after a long illness. He was born on 5 Oct 1924 to the late William Everett Gumm and Ruth Dale Sidebottom Gumm. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Gumm; 1 brother, Norman Lewis Gumm; 1 sister, Mary Uldon Parr; 7 nieces, Jerry Lynn Jeffries of Campbellsville, Lisa Gontreman of Upton, Connie Kreller of Greensburg, Monica Guerin of Louisville, Teresa Markle of Indiana, Kimberly Ruth Gumm and Mary Kathleen Gumm, both of Louisiana; 3 nephews, Dennis Allen Gumm of Louisville, William Keith Gumm of Campbellsville and Eric Parr of NC. Six great-nephews and 5 great-nieces also survive. Doyle Gumm lived in Green Co. all of his life working on the farm and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. He was a member of the VFW and was a WWII veteran. Funeral services were held Mon. 23 Nov at 10 am at the Foster-Jones and Toler Funeral Home with burial in the O’Banion Cem. Rev. Chester VanDyke officiated over the services with music provided by Bettie Jo Larimore. Pallbearers were Harold Sidebottom, David Sidebottom, Jimmy Sidebottom, Bobby McFelia, Billy Gumm and Dennis Gumm.
