Mrs. Pearl Thompson Graham, daughter of the late Mr. Joseph Thompson and Mollie O’Banion Thompson was born 28 Apr 1886 in Green Co. and departed this life at 2 pm Thurs. 24 Apr [1986] at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg. She was 99 years, 11 months, and 26 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church where she joined in 1918. She served as president of the Woman’s Missionary Society. She also taught Sunday School and served as a teacher in the Training Union. Mrs. Graham attended Western Ky. State Normal School in Bowling Green. She also attended Russell Creek Academy and Bryant Stratton Business College in Louisville. She also taught in the Green Co. School System for several years. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star Greensburg Chapter 232 and past Worthy Matron of the chapter. She was also a member of the Jane Todd Hospital Auxiliary, the Highland Homemakers and the Chamber of Commerce. She worked in the Graham Insurance Agency with her husband and was a licensed agent. After the death of her husband she opened the Graham Tourist Home with she operated for many years. She united in marriage to Thurman Mays. To this union were born 2 sons: Claude Mays and Vora Mays who preceded her in death. She later united in marriage to C.E. (Jake) Graham on 26 Dec 1917. To this union was born 1 son: C.E. Graham II of Greensburg. Also surviving is 1 step-son: Mr. Garnett Davis Graham of Lexington. One sister survives: Mrs. Ruth Henderson of Greensburg. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Sat. 26 Apr with burial in the Greensburg Cem. Rev. George Price and Rev. Dwain Depew officiated. Pallbearers were Boyce Hudson, Kelly Durham, Tommy Skaggs, Paul Murry, Joe G. Shuffett and Garnett Gupton.
