Interested in sharing information concerning the children of Henry Bale (from New Jersey) who came to Green County around 1800. My ancestor,Rhoda Bale married John Henry Huffman, but I can find no information about John Henry. Their daughter, Catherine, married Aquilla Standiford in Hardin Co., Kentucky.

I too am decended from Henry Bale of New Jersey. My gfather was Henry Casper Bales. He left Green Co. in 1904 and moved to Illinois. Some of the line, including my grandfather, added an s to the name. His father was William, son of Jacob. Would like to know more about your line. Peggy Brown

There is a Rhoda, sister of Jacob, who married a Huffman and Rhoda daughter of Jacob who married a Meredith. If you want more info, I have some.

There is a Rhoda who was a sister to Jacob and daughter of Henry and a Rhoda who is the daughter of Jacob. I have more info if you would like it.

In his journals, my great grandfather listed his ancestry as John Henry Huffman and Rhoda Bale, from New Jersey. He also listed a complete family group. I believe Rhoda is the Rhoda Bale mentioned in Snell's history of New Jersey, however I cannot prove this conclusively. John Henry Huffman and Rhoda lived much of their lives in Hardin Co., Kentucky. I descend from their daughter, Catherine, who married Aquilla Standiford in Hardin Co. I do not know the parentage of John Henry Huffman but do have some information concerning Heinrich and Elizabeth Behl. Any information concerning the Huffman or Bale families would be appreciated.

The information I have says the New Jersey Bales consisted of Jacob, Peter, Henry, Rhoda, Elizabeth, Mary and Catherine. I descend from Jacob who came to Kentucky from NJ. Would appreciate a list of the NJ Bales if you have it. I appreciate the informationthat the Huffmans were in Hardin Co. If you have your grandfather's journal, does he tell any stories about the Bales in New Jersey or Kentucky? I am trying to put together a history of the three generations of Bales in NJ, KY, and Illinois--I am trying to compile what is known about the mills they ran in each state. It would be nice to have the info nailed down about the basic families but it is a major task and I will have to be content with what I can come up with. NJ geneaological society in Sussex Co. is doing some looking for me now. I am not sure what you have and what I might be able to help you with. If you would like to provide me with what you have or might wish, I will try to help you fill in some blank spots. Thank you.

I have mapped out some six generations of the Bale family starting back to Henry Bale based on a 1985 family personal genealogy study.
