Looking for information on John W. CHILDERS (who married Martha GUNTER in Wood Co,TX), believed to be the son of Robert CHILDERS and Emily BELEW. Does anyone have proof that he is their son? He may have been born Sept 19, 1841 in Pendleton or Grant Co, KY. Robert CHILDERS is on the Pendleton Co. Census for 1840. Robert and Emily's children are listed with Emily's parents, Thomas and Sarah (THRASHER) BELEW in Pendleton Co on the 1850 Census. There is a John listed, and I think this may be John W. These children are next listed on the 1860 census in Wood Co, TX with Emily's sister Sarah (BELEW) and her husband William DALE. I have been told Robert is the son of Henry CHILDERS and Mary THOMPSON, and that Henry is the son of Henry CHILDERS and Susanna GOOLSBY. Can someone point me to some documentation? Thanks ever so much.
James Taylor Burch died at his home on Main Street October 15, 1899 at five minutes after one o'clock. He was born January 18, 1876 and spent his life in Williamstown. Jimmie, as he was familiarly known, was a peacable, industrious young man; the pride of his parents and a friend to everyone. Over a year ago that uncontrollable disease, consumption, fastened its poisonous fangs upon him, and despite the efforts of medical skill, gradually broke down his once robust frame and clasped him to the cold embrace of death. He went to Waynesville, Ohio last summer remaining there several months hoping to improve his failing health, but is soon became apparent that his search was in vain and he returned home. He leaves a father, mother, brother and three sisters to mourn his loss. The remains were interred in Williamstown Cemetery Tuesday afternoon.

The Williamstown Cemetery - A History of its Inhabitants
Published by the Grant County Ky Historical Society, 1987

my fathers nick name was not buddy it was dudy. he did not have a middle name so everyone called him dudy. on his birth certificate he was called lenard or leonard. he was born on july 21, 1923. if you look in the grant county birth certificates for 1923 you will find Lenard not Eugene. this was a mistake by the doctor that filled out the document. he was always called Eugene by his mother. the mistake was not found until late 1980's. when my father needed the document to get his military documentation. in the obituary there was no mention of a daughter that died in 1990. her name was Linda Lou Webster McCormach. and there was another sister that died at birth or was still born. Her name was Bronco Lane Webster she was born between Philip Webster and Walter Webster.

James S. Blackburn (married to Telitha Susan Cammack is NOT the son of Thomas Rankin Blackburn. He is the son of Bird Blackburn and Leah Jolly. Please see Deed from O. P. Hogan to Bird Blackburn Heirs recorded in Book K, Page 315, Grant Co. Kentucky Records and subsequent deeds between Leah Blackburn Beard, widow of Bird Blackburn and the surviving children. Two of James and Susan's children, Bird and Leah (Laura) were named after his parents. The 1870 Grant Co. census shows a daughter, Lear Frances, age 7 and Burd, age 8. Apparently this deed was not known when the Hilliard book on the Blackburns was published and she did not have the information to attach James S. to the correct parent. I can email transcription of this deed and subsequent deeds upon request.
