Mrs. Velma Hughes Kennedy, 79, of Williamstown, Ky., died Ocotber 12, 1979 at her residence. She was a native of New Columbus, daughter of the late John William and Nancy Jane Morgan Hughes, and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, Buford O. Kennedy; two sons, Lloyd of Wiliamstown, and Buford Jr., of Cincinnati; one sister, Mrs. Hallie Kenney of Williamstown; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Burial in Williamstown Cemetery.
