James R. Ford, 89, of Owenton, Kentucky, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at his home. He was a former circuit judge for Grant, Owen and Carroll Counties from 1967 to 1984. He previously worked as a commonwealth attorney. He was a graduate of Centre College and the University of Kentucky College of Law. He was a deacon at Owenton First Christian Church, a Mason, and served as a Navy lieutenant commander in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen James Ford. Survivors include one daughter, Jame Rodman Ford of Anderson, Indiana; a brother; and four sisters. A memorial service was held April 19 at Owenton First Christian Church. McDonald and New Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
