Dr. Virgil L. Rouse, 87, of Burnside, Kentucky, died September 2, 1996 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. He was born in Boone County, the son of the late Dr. Louis Elbert and Jessie Lee Huey Rouse. He was a retired dentist, having a 40-year private practice in Ludlow. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and served as commander of a dental unit in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a member of Burnside United Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife of fifty-seven years, Rosemary Clinkscales Rouse; one daughter, Patricia Philip Smith of Stanford; one brother, Dr. Layton L. Rouse of Madison, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Rhonda L. Brad Beanblossom of Kingwood, Texas and Kevin R. Smith of Stanford. Funeral services were September 5 at Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset. Graveside services were held at Williamstown Cemetery.
