I think Thomas was the brother of Emma, because his birthdate of 1867 matches that of her brother (who was my g-grandfather. I've had real problems with Thomas's fathers
family for years. I know that his father was George, but I don't know how many George's there were in a lineal line.
I think that there was at least two George's and then a John, or that's what my grandfather Hiland nelson told me before he passed away in 1980. I would love to know the older history as I can share the newer history with you.
My g-grandfather Tom, and his wife, Alpha Hubbard, left Floyd Co., Ky to go to Texarkana(I think) with his sister Mary Goodman and her husband John. Tom and John got in a fight with some men and left in a hurry. The wives couldn't leave until later as Mary was pregnant. As soon as she was able to travel, they came back to Floyd County.
They must have been back in Floyd County by 1890 as that's when one of their children was born. Some of John and Mary Goodman's descendants went to Elliott County. My son has a good friend who is a Goodman and who lives on the same property John lived on (I think). My e-mail address is kmarcum@se-tel.com. Please contact me.
