B D Daniels and Wife Nancy Looking For a Maiden Name ?

They may have lived in Kentucky (Cumberland County Area)
or Tennessee (Plainview,Pea Ridge of Clay County/Overton County Poss. at that time)

Benjaman Douglas Daniels **Married Nancy
B-Sept 10, 1862
D-Mar 27, 1938

Married Nancy (?) (Name could be Nan,Nannie,Nanny)
Last Name is Unknown - I have a very small lead that it might be something like * Clary / Mc Clary / Mc Clerran *
My GrandPa thinks he remembers a name "sounding" like these being said about one of the men who came to visit his mother that was an Uncle but he was very young and after she died they did not come back.
Nancy was said to be Full Blooded Cherokee(Or at least Half) She was a dark complected woman with high cheeck bones , very dark brown/black hair, about 5'6" tall. My GrandMa said she remembers being at her Funeral and seeing a few men that she was told as a girl were Indian Relatives of Nan.

Benjaman Douldgals might have went by the nicknam "Pete" or just B D Daniels.

Benjaman and Nan had a bunch of kids:
Bob-Male
Arlie-Male
Cora-Female
Lora-Female
Arlas-Male
Delia-Female
Joe R-Male
Mary M-Male
Charles M-Male(B:oct 23 1906 D:Mar 12 1966/Marr:Lucy Watson)
Lorana-Female
Clark-Male

Grave Marker Reads:
Nancy Daniels
B-Feb 25, 1872
D-Sept 4, 1956

I am trying to find who her parents were I can not seem to trace her to anywhere. If the Indian story is true she might have received some sort of Land Grant in KY/TN that the Gov did but i can't find any record of that either.

ANY HELP is Welcomed! Thank You.

Funeral services for Benjamin Douglas DANIELS, familiarly known as
"Uncle Pete" and for 15 years a Pea Ridge merchant and farmer, were
conducted at the home last Monday by J. Cleve SCOTT. Mr. Daniels died
at his home Sunday, following an illness of three weeks.

Since you have exact death dates, you should order her death certif in hopes her parents names were listed. This would be a good start for you.

Good luck.

Death certif can be ordered in the county where they died, usually thru the court house.

This may be a long shot but I thought I would mention it to you anyway. I have Volume 3 of the "Rejected Applications of the Guion Miller Roll of the Eastern Cherokee" by Jo Ann Curls Page. In this book, there is listed the following:

Application No. 36649 Nannie Daniel, Resided Tennessee, Born ca 1874, Husband Monroe Daniel, Father Andrew Viar, mother Delcia Reagan, Paternal grandparents Robert & Francis Viar.

There are also a couple other Tennesse Daniels listed in this book. The applications can be ordered and they usually have more information.

This may not be your family since her husband is listed as Monroe Daniel, but thought I would mention it.

I found the marriage record of Peter Daniel to Mamie Clary on 3 Aug 1893 in Clay County, Tennessee. Married by John R. Donaldson, J. P. Bondsmen were J. R. Daniel and J. R. Dulworth. The bond was dated 2 Aug 1893. I have a copy if you want me to e-mail it to your home e-mail address.

Let me know.
