Hi Myra,

Yes, we found Susan Flowers' grave at Chestnut Grove. If you're standing in the church parking lot facing the cemetery, it's in the 2nd full row of stones. I think you'll be able to get an idea of exactly where it is by orientating yourself with the surrounding stones and the view of the church/parking lot. (I've attached a photo of the tombstone to this message so you'll have it.)

How do you connect to Susan Flowers? I ask because she's my gg-grandmother.

HI Brenda,

I'm attaching the photos that we took of Lueasy Vaughn, Bill Vaughn, Sallie Hoots and Ransom Hoots' tombstones to this message. Note that Ransom's tombstone is broken, we didn't find the top part, but the name and dates are still there.

Hi Sherri:

You may have seen my Hoots family website at
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=hootsfam...

Is Lueasy the daughter of Ransom? I have Louisa Hoots, born 1851 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee.

Is Bill Vaughn her husband? I have J. W. Vaughn.

If they are the daughter and son-in-law of Ransom, I would greatly appreciate anything you have on them and (if there are any) their children.

Where is Chestnut Grove Cemetery?

Thanks.

Rod Hoots, Arlington, Virginia

Hi Rod,

No, I haven't seen your Hoots family site, but will be sure to check it out.

As for Lueasy being the daughter of Ransom and Sallie, I can't tell you. I've not worked on my Hoots family connection much. Brenda (previous message on this string) states that she is, and that Bill is her husband. I got involved in this simply because we photographed the entire cemetery about 18 months ago and could provide a little history and the photos.

Chesnut Grove cemetery and church are located on the road to Dale Hollow State park, just before the park entrance. If you follow the signs to the park, you can't miss it.

You didn't say what city, state this cemetery is in. Would be interested to know this as I have Hoots connection.

I am searching for information on Sarah (Sally) Hoots (my great-grandmother), b. abt. 1857 to Joseph Hoots and Eliza Jane Williams. She had children: Dianna and Robert; unknown if she was married at the time as the census reports them to also be "Hoots".
She married Thomas Lyman Jackson. Presumably, she died abt. 1892. Also searching for one of their daughters, Laura, believed to have married a Rogers.

Thank you.

Hi Jerry,

This cemetery is in Cumberland County, KY, just outside of Dale Hollow State Park. There's no city as it's out in the "hollers". The area used to be known as Frogue, (and still is by the old timers), but the closest thing you'll find now for the area is Bow, KY, but I havent' a clue if you'll even find it listed on a map either.

Check out Burkesville on a map, which will get you within about 15 miles, but I know it will be on a map. From there, you should be able to find the park.

Thank you so much. I sort of figured that out after I posted my message. I apologize.

Hi Cousin, remember me? We are related through William Robert King and Sarah Catherine Jarvis. One of their dau m. a Barber and one of this couple's dau m. a Johnson. I have tracking the Johnson's and found that they moved from Morgan Co to Cumberland Co sometime between 1860 (aft census) and bef the 1870 census. They are listed in Burkesville with the spelling of Johnston. I would like to find death records or at least the parents. This couple were my 4th gr-grandparents. Would it be possible to get addresses of the cemeteries in Cumberland Co
