Will Book 1, Page 19.

I Elizabeth Hogard of the County of Crittenden and state of Kentucky do hereby make and publish this my last will & testament in the manner following.
First I wish my just debts & funeral expenses paid. Secondly, Having about four years since given my son Byars Hogard a power of attorney to collect money for me which was due me in the state of Virginia I hereby give and bequeath to him all the money that he may hereafter collect for me in persuance of said power of attorney. To Joel Lamb I give my negro boy Charles, upon his paying to my son John Hogard the sum of three hundred dollars. It is my wish and desire that my son William Hogard and my son in law Joel Lamb be allowed to retain all that I have heretofore given them. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Polly Hogard & Betsy Hogard daughters of Anderson Hogard deceased two hundred dollars each. I also give and bequeath a bed & bedding to John Hogard a bed and bedding to Joel Lamb & a bed and bedding to William Hogard. The remainder of my property whatever it may be of every kind & description I wish equally divided between William Hogard John Hogard and Joel Lamb and my two grand daughters Polly Hogard & Betsy Hogard giving to my said two grand daughters one fourth of such remainder to be equally divided between them. And hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made I hereby nominate and appoint William Hogard and Joel Lamb executors of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 27th day of January 1848

I Harvey W Bigham Clerk of said County Court do certify that at said term this writing was produced into open Court and proven to be the last will and testament of Elizabeth Hogard by the oaths of Wm G Pickens and S Marble subscribing witnesses thereto, and likewise by the oath of James Hall and the same was ordered to be recorded Whereupon I have recorded the same in my office together with this certificate
