Looking for any information on this family, especially any information on orphans in their care. (Finding the spelling as both Evins & Evans)The 1900 census,Clinton Co,(Illwill Dist4) shows them as:

EVINS WILLIAM H. Oct 1868 KY KY KY (Minister)
Eliga L.[son] May 1896 KY KY MICH (prob Eligha Lawrence)
Waller C. [son] Feb 1898 KY KY MICH (prob Walter)
Roxie E. [adopted] Jan 1887 KY KY KY
BRYANT Jessie [adopted, male] Oct 1899 KY KY KY
COFFEE, Molly [helper] May 1888 KY KY KY
HUSTON, Anna [helper] Dec 1881 KY KY KY
BISHOP, Charles [servant] Sept 1882 TN TN TN
MACFARLAND, Nancy E. [helper] April 1868 KY TN TN
Austin, Betty A. {invalid] Apr 1861? KY KY KY

By 1907 Mrs Evans had taken 19 orphans by train to a Floresville, Wilson Co TX orphans home. Mr Evans is no longer with her. Writings indicate that he had abandoned her, & 5 of their children along with the others. Orphan names include SAVAGE,HAMILTON,STAFFORD,the JESSIE BRYANT from the 1900 census,BARNER (Barnes?),SLENN (Glenn?),ANDERSON,MYERS,ENLOW(E),RICHARDS,SIDWELL,SEAY?. All from KY, all between the ages of 8 to 12.

1910 Census of Wilson CO TX shows Mrs Evans with her 5 children, Lawrence 14, Walter 12, Herman 9, Lottie E. 7 [Charlotte Ellen] and Agnes Maria, 5. They are near the orphanage.

1920 Mrs M.L. Evans is in Hidalgo Co. TX. The orphanage closed by 1917-18, all boys placed somewhere and girls taken to a Nazarene school in Hamlin TX.

Would like to find anything about the time spent in Clinton County, did all the orphans come from there? What happened to Mr. Evans? Was this an Orphanage/School, or a Church orphanage? Anything would be appreciated.
