I didnt find a Mariah Proffit marrying a Gray but found a Barbara Proffit m Walden Gray on Dec. 17, 1896 and in answer to your other post..

Sarah A. Mitchel m Campbell Williams on Dec 24, 1885. The marriage record for Sarah and Campbell only has a marriage bond listed not the date of the marriage. The book says that sometimes the minister didnt turn in the papers so it dosent mean they didnt get married. I wrote to Clay Co and got copies of some license and some of them had parents listed also.. Good luck.. let me know if I can help further
