Need info and or lookups on James K. Thomas born Feb. 1, 1844 in Christian County KY. He died in 1922 and burried Brown's Church Cemetery in Madison County, TN. Parents names and siblings? He was my great grandfather. I have lots of info on him after civil war from around 1868 in Tennessee to his death there in Madison county. He married 1st wife Jane Sharp in Madison county Tennessee 1868 and had children: Eddy, Anna, James O., Dora Bell, Flora, Birddie, and Martha.. Have very little info on these children of that marriage except their daughter Martha Elizabeth Thomas born late 1880 who married Vorch Reely Alexander also in Madison county, TN. Have no photos of him (James K. Thomas). Have lots of info on his marriage 1903 again, in Madison co. TN to Saphronia Annette Wilkins, McArthur, (my great grandmother), they had two son's: Edward Martin and Billie Stonewall Thomas. Can someone please help!. I have hit a brick wall in my search for his parents and siblings. About Sept. 1861 a pro Union element gained control of the Kentucky legislature and I believe he and or his family were pro confederate and left Kentucky for Tennessee around that time. He entered Civil war about 1862, Confederate side, in Tennessee. According to his Pension App. he had been resident of Tennessee since 1861. The Pension App and two of his son's delayed birth certificates list him as born in Christian county Kentucky and all Tennessee Census records have him and his parents listed as born in Kentucky.
