Thank you very much. Does the new Christian County Cemetery book list the location or describe directions to McKnight Cemetery #2? I'm hoping to come through Christian County towards the end of July 2009 & hope to visit the grave sites.

The only McKnight Cemetery I am familiar with is off Hwy 109
in North Christian County. The Kings on both the 1850 census and the 1860 census were not living near this McKnight Cemetery. Is there a cemetery near Garretsburg called the McKnight Cemetery?

Jean and Shirley, thank you both for your assistance. I've tried to interpolate your directions with online maps and I think I've got a pretty good picture of how to locate cemetery #2. Hoping to visit this coming July. Not sure how much time I'll have but would you have recommendation where I could look for land deeds 1850 thru 1870? Clerk of county court in Hopkinsville maybe?

Yes, be sure you check with the county clerk, you may also find information you are looking for at the library-1101 Bethel Street in Hopkinsville.
The Genealogy Society has some books on sale. I am not sure how long this sale will last or what books are available other than the Christian County Cemetery book.

I've recently gone to the County Court Clerk's office at the courthouse on Main St., Hopkinsville, Ky. I copied deeds from as early as the 1840's. There are earlier deeds there.
There is also much information in the genealogy section of the public library. The one day I had was not enough time to
find what was available in the genealogy section. There are indexes and records on microfiche as well as print records
available to copy.
