Gerald,
I have 3 Johnson's, Duncan M D Johnson b. 1809 Christian Co. KY, Winna F Johnson b. abt 1813 KY, and Elizabeth Sarah Johnson b. 1823 Clinton County, IL. These 3 Johnson's married 3 Watts' siblings. Elizabeth Sarah is my 3ggrandmother. Some of their childrens' names are: Hugh, Samuel, Parmenus, James, Joseph, Sarah Sophona, I have hit a dead end trying to find the father or fathers to these 3 Johnson children. I have found in the History of Clinton County that 2 brothers, John and William Johnson, and a cousin, William Johnson, settled in Clinton County, Illinois in the late 1810's. One or more of them came here from Christian Co., Kentucky via Missouri. One of the William's was also a preacher b. bet 1780 - 1790 in North Carolina, wife Sallie b. bet 1780 - 1790 in North Carolina.
Any help or a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

I have done a fair amount of research on the Johnsons of Christian County and have followed them up to Clinton and Hamilton Co IL among other IL counties.

Happy to exchange info.

Hugh named after Rev War soldier who was son of William Johnson of Anson Co NC died 1786, and have his will. Hugh Sr went to Washington Co area died there 1840s. Brother of Hugh Sr. named Malcomb went to nearby St. Clair Co 1814. My ancestor John Johnson was next to William and Malcomb on 1810 Chr. Co Census. Duncan Johnson MD is, I think named after this Williams uncle Duncan McDuffee who left will Christian Co 1808.

Dear Kelly:
My Johnson Family lineage is thru John Johnson and Margaret Power(s). John was the son of Hugh Johnson and brother to William Johnson. Hugh Johnson was a Rev. War Soldier.
I'm interested in more information about Hugh Johnson's family and his siblings before they came to MO and then IL.
Can you be of any help to me? Do you have any information on John Johnson and his family? If not I can be of some help, I believe.

Sincerely,
Rose Power(s) Somraty Yarbrough

I realize I'm replying to a post that's practically a fossil, however, the individuals in this particular post by Les Johnson happen to be in my family, and I'm also descended from the same John Johnson as Les.

I would love to trade research! Very eager, in fact, to talk to someone regarding these Johnson families!
